See this page for an introduction to Soulsavers and an overview of Dave's collaborations with them.

Imposter is the result of Dave's third collaboration with Soulsavers. It is a collection of reinterpretations of songs that are near and dear to Dave. The album was recorded live in Malibu, California at the Shangri-La Recording Studio in November 2019. After nearly 2 years and a global pandemic that shut down nearly all in-person social interaction, the album has finally been released to the general public.

The album cover photo was taken by Dave's daughter, Stella Rose Gahan. Stella Rose had also taken the photo that was used for the cover of Soulsavers' previous album, Angels & Ghosts.

Below is the album trailer, first released on October 6, 2021:

Soulsavers Dave Gahan quote

"When I listen to other people's voices and songs — more importantly the way they sing them and interpret the words — I feel at home. I identify with it. It comforts me more than anything else." -Dave Gahan1
